Birmingham v Manchester City

Birmingham find themselves just one place outside the drop zone only on goal difference and they host a Manchester City team who believe they may win the title this season. With Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea winning yesterday, Manchester City will not want to fall behind, and the bookies believe Manchester City will struggle tonight as they are 10/11 to win. Birmingham 3/1 to win tonight, as they will be hoping for 3 home wins on the bounce is space of a week. In the other two games, they were behind but managed to come back and win. You feel in this game, whoever gets the first goal will go on to win the match, or at worst draw as both are tight defensively. Carlos Tevez is 3/1 to score first, and in a potentially tight scrappy game, it would be safe to bet money on him. This game could go either way, but I am going to say a tight goal less draw.

My recommendation; Birmingham 0-0 Manchester City (8/1)

Blackburn v Tottenham

The away side are currently sitting in 5th place, and will need to win this game to keep up with the top four. Tottenham had a poor FA Cup game at the weekend, losing 4-0 to Fulham and Michael Dawson sent off, which will mean he will miss 3 Premier League games. Blackburn have started to put a few results together of late, and find themselves in a comfortable 8th place spot. They are 21/10 to win tonight, with Tottenham at 13/10. Blackburn have been very good at home this season, only losing to Arsenal, Chelsea and Stoke, in narrow games. They have picked up a lot of points at home and currently Tottenham are in a defensive crisis so will not enjoy their trip to Ewood Park. However, Tottenham are due a good result, and have enough quality on the pitch to grind out a result here. Rafael Van Der Vaart to score first (5/1) in a close win for the away side.

My recommendation
; Blackburn 2-3 Tottenham (25/1)

Liverpool v Stoke

After losing Torres in the transfer window, Liverpool did well to bring in an equal amount of quality by signing both Luis Suarez from Ajax and Andy Carrol from Newcastle. However, the latter won’t be able to play for a couple of weeks. Liverpool may struggle tonight to break down a Stoke team, but home support and optimism may work in the favour of Liverpool, who are priced at 4/7 to win. Stoke will be up for the match, and have always proven to be a stern test for anybody. A Stoke win is 5/1, and for them to earn a draw is 11/4 which perhaps is a more suitable bet. Luis Suarez is the favourite to score first at 7/2, although Gerrard is 4/1 and is my pick. I believe Liverpool will get enough for a result tonight, and a win will put them just two points behind Sunderland, and perhaps a late surge for 4th place is not off the cards.

My recommendation; Liverpool 2-0 Stoke City (6/1)
