Tottenham v Manchester United – This is arguably the most anticipated game of the weekend. Tottenham are currently occupying 4th position at the moment, whereas Manchester United are top, with them playing less than the teams challenging them. Tottenham have failed to beat  Manchester United in their last 23 times of asking, dating back to 2001. Harry Redknapp and his team must be confident with his side to stop that trend. Dimitar Berbatov to score past his old team first is priced at 9/2, which is more likely than any other option. Rafael Van Der Vaart has always come up with a goal in crucial games, and he is 6/1 to score first. This game could go either way, but I am backing a 1-1 draw.

My recommendation; Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United (11/2)

Liverpool v Everton – The Merseyside derby couldn’t have come at a better time with both sides on 25 points in the table, but Everton one position higher on goal difference. Since Kenny Daglish has took over, he has lost both of his games, but will be relishing the chance to defeat Everton. Everton beat Liverpool earlier on in the season, and have performed better against the bigger sides. It will be  a memorably clash, but I’d go for a Liverpool one in this one, with Fernando Torres to score first (4/1).

My recommendation; Liverpool 3-1 Everton (16/1)

Birmingham v Aston Villa
– The Merseyside derby is only one of three derbies today, as Birmingham host Aston Villa. The reverse fixture was a 0-0 draw, and it could potentially happen again. Aston Villa have been on a bad run of form of late, and will be desperate for the points. There is only one point between the sides, as both teams are in the big relegation battle, and unfortunately Aston Villa do occupy one of the positions in the bottom three. Aleksandr Hleb to score first is 10/1 and may be worthwhile as often their goals don’t come from the strikers. I’d go for a 2-1 win for Birmingham in this one.

My recommendation; Birmingham 2-1 Aston Villa (8/1)

Sunderland v Newcastle – This is another derby of the day, and the reverse fixture saw Sunderland get hammered 5-1. However, in other fixtures, Sunderland have been one of the top sides this season, sitting in 6th position. Newcastle have been inconsistent this season, but sitting comfortably in mid table just two places behind Sunderland. Asamoah Gyan to score first is 5/1, and I believe Sunderland will get some revenge.
My recommendation; Sunderland 3-0 Newcastle (18/1)
